The PLÅNTZ hemp protein is a very valuable product for us because we use a very small mesh size in our ultrasonic sieving machine when sieving. As with hemp flour, the hemp protein at PLÅNTZ is a by-product of oil production. In a first step, the pellet-shaped press cake is ground between real millstones in our real Salzburg grain mill. The resulting flour is a great product, but we sieve it in 3 stages to produce coarse grist, fine hemp flour and the superfine hemp protein offered here. The pure protein yield in this quality with over 70% protein content is only around 3% of the original seed weight. We have therefore decided to offer a protein mix that still contains 40% of high-quality, regionally produced pea protein.
